Marko Kusmuk’s paintings on International symposium in Sarajevo
The Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo started with its work forty years ago. That anniversary is the occasion for the international symposium about the current state of fine arts academies which is to be held on 30 October. On the symposium there will participate representatives of academies from Zagreb, Banja Luka, Osijek, Priština, Split, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Trebinje, Novi Sad, Široki Brijeg, etc.
Besides the symposium in terms of celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the Academy of Fine Arts, the agreement on future international cooperation of academies will be signed as well. In the afternoon there will be the opening exhibitions of students, professors and associates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in the last ten years.
From department of painting, among the students who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (painting department) in last ten years, was chosen our fellow citizen, academic painter Marko Kusmuk. His work will be exposed tomorrow (10/30/2012) in Collegium Artisticum, Skenderija, and the opening of the exhibition is scheduled for 7 PM.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, as a higher education institution and a member of the
University of Sarajevo, was established in 1972.
The founders of the Academy are: art historian and first dean of the Academy - Muhamed Karamehmedović,academic painters Boro Aleksić, Nada Pivac and Mersad Berber and academic sculptors Alija Kučukalićand Zdenko Grgić and others.
